The problem
Despite an increase in global attention and effort, the gap in pay and career opportunity between men and women remains significant. Women make on average 65-70% of what men make, and women make up only 30-35% of managerial positions. Corporations can lead in moving toward gender equity in many ways, including through public commitments to achieve gender pay and career equity (and public disclosures of progress), non-discrimination and other internal policies, formal programs and benefits offered to women (such as mentorship programs), creating a respectful and transparent work culture, and engaging with supply chain partners on gender equity
