Mass shootings, including at schools, continue in the US and around the globe. The rate of intentional homicides globally increased from 2015-2017, from 6.0 to 6.1 per 100,000 people. While there are many factors involved, the spread and availability of weapons is often cited as an enabler, with an estimated 875 million small arms in circulation around the globe. Companies play a critical role in the availability of weapons -- most directly through the production and sale of weapons (for companies in the weapons industry), but also through involvement in public policy and business relationships with the weapons industry
